Brian Clark, DC
As a young kid, age 10, my father became very ill and spent several months in the hospital. He went through months of physical therapy. During his recovery I would often go to the rehab center to ride the exercise bikes and stretch with him.
I knew at that age I wanted to help people be healthy, I just wasn’t sure how.
In high school, I began struggling with neck pain and headaches. My best friend’s dad was a chiropractor, so I went to see him. He did an examination and x-rays, adjusted my spine and I felt relief almost instantly. It worked so well for me, and I was so impressed with how healthy everyone was in his office that I decided to become a chiropractor myself!
I began my education at Texas State University in San Marcos, earning a Bachelor of Science, with an emphasis on psychology in 2002. Then went on to earn the degree Doctor of Chiropractic from Parker College of Chiropractic in 2006. While in school, I spent my summer and winter breaks traveling as much as possible and working jobs such as a whitewater rafting guide, snowboard instructor, and personal trainer, which have all contributed to my ability to help and educate people.
At the end of chiropractic school, I wanted to volunteer my time and energy to help others in need and found the perfect opportunity in Mexico City, where I was able to work with a wide variety of people and their health problems. My travels through Mexico taught me valuable lessons that have contributed to my passion for this profession.
After graduation, I wanted to start a practice with a positive outlook on health. And, I knew I wanted to be an Austin Chiropractor, the greatest city in all of Texas. So I started Discover Chiropractic in 2008 with the goal of helping people to live happier and healthier lives. People need to know that the key to health doesn’t come in a bottle or pill, or any outside source. Health comes from within.
Many people suffer from back and neck pain for years before they realize that a chiropractic treatment can reduce or even eliminate their pain completely. Chiropractors are specially trained doctors who can manipulate your spine and other joints. This manipulation or as we call it, an adjustment, is meant to relieve your pain and improve your overall movement and physical function.
Your spine is responsible for controlling your entire nervous system, so many other issues may be related to a misalignment of your spine. Often patients will not only feel their pain improve, but they will have more energy and stamina as well.
A chiropractic treatment can help restore your body’s natural ability to heal itself, reduce stress, and eliminate your pain completely. There are, however some problems associated with the back that cannot be treated with a traditional chiropractic adjustment. This is why it is important to see a qualified chiropractor to diagnose your specific problem.
