Chiropractic Austin Services
What to Expect
We have taken great care to provide you with an office that is peaceful, welcoming, and impeccably designed. We want to gift you with an experience that will leave you feeling refreshed and encouraged each time you visit us. On your first visit to our chiropractic Austin office, you can expect to be greeted warmly by our caring staff. We have some paperwork for you to complete which will help us learn more about you. Then you will meet with Dr. Clark.
Why a Consultation?
The purpose of the consultation with the doctor is to discuss your health goals and determine if chiropractic adjustments will help you. If the doctor feels he can help, we will likely run a full diagnostic workup which may include X-rays, neurological and orthopedic tests and a general physical. X-rays are frequently used in chiropractic examination because they allow Dr. Clark to assess the position of spinal bones, vertebral subluxations, and the health of the spine. They can also shed light on the duration of such issues. This information is helpful in the development of your individualized treatment plan. You can view your X-rays with Dr. Clark and he will discuss them with you when you are given your treatment plan. In some cases, we will not take X-rays, such as pregnant women and young children.
Second Visit to Our Chiropractor
In your second visit to our chiropractic Austin TX office, we plan to answer as many of your questions as possible with a full report of findings. If we can help you, we will tell you exactly how we can help, and give you our best recommendations for care. At that point, you decide if you are ready to follow our recommendations and continue with chiropractic care. There’s never any pressure.
A Typical Visit in our Chiropractic Austin Office
After these two initial visits to establish your needs and your treatment plan, typical visits should just be about 10 minutes. We do our best to accommodate your schedule and keep our appointments running on time. Our goal is to make you more comfortable and not add stress to your busy life.
In order to make long-lasting improvements in your physical health, we will not only work to alleviate symptoms but to gently and repeatedly correct your body’s alignment. Once you begin to heal, your visits may decrease in frequency. In some situations, we may give you exercises and stretches to expedite your body’s healing process.
You will find that the effects of your visit are cumulative, each visit enhancing the one before it. We encourage you to follow the recommendations of your treatment plan to receive the maximum benefit from chiropractic care. Once you have completed your treatment plan, routine chiropractic adjustments can help solidify the positive changes that have been made, prevent the recurrence of physical problems, and keep your body functioning better than it was before. We want you to feel better than ever and to be able to enjoy all the activities you love without pain.
chiropractic adjustments to reduce pain & improve range of motion
Chiropractic adjustments are the key focus of your visits here. The spinal adjustments are designed to fix subluxations of the spine. A subluxation is an improper alignment of one or more vertebrae that puts pressure on the spinal nerve, the discs, or surrounding tissues and can lead to discomfort, pain, numbness and tingling, and even loss of function to associated muscles and organs.
When chiropractors adjust a patient’s spine, they are searching for these misalignments and then moving the vertebrae back into place. The improper alignment may have been caused by a fall or other accident, simple overuse, or any other stresses that people routinely experience. In other words, there may be mental, chemical and/or physical factors causing stress on your spine and nervous system.
In the case of a subluxation, pain can be felt as the spinal cord or peripheral nerves are impinged or pinched. The body responds by sending a message to the brain to protect that part of the body, surrounding muscles tense up, and inflammation and pain result. With gentle chiropractic adjustments, the vertebrae are put back into alignment and the body’s inflammatory response is given the opportunity to subside as the healing process takes over.
With proper chiropractic care, patients can reduce pain, improve range of motion and enjoy better overall health.
